Apple has issued the first release candidate of iOS 27.2 for iPhone, bringing the software update closer to its public launch.

If testing does not reveal problems that require another build, the release candidate could become the version available to all users.

Features added during beta testing

Across the beta cycle, Apple introduced Group FaceTime with Dual Capture, support for more languages in Siri’s AI features, profiles in the Apple TV app, and changes to how Apple Podcasts organizes episodes.

Apple Music also received a black-and-white app icon in place of the red one, along with blue highlighting for the active tab.

Health redesign removed from testing

A redesigned Health app appeared in earlier iOS 27.2 betas, but Apple restored the previous app in beta 4. The company still plans to release the update later this year.
