Apple Puts iOS 27.0.1 First for iPhone Users Still on iOS 26
Apple has changed the iPhone update order so users on iOS 26 now see iOS 27.0.1 first. iOS 26.7.1 has been moved to the “Also Available” section, while installing iOS 27 remains optional.
iPhone users still running iOS 26 now see iOS 27.0.1 as the main update in Settings → General → Software Update. Apple changed the order today.
The iOS 26.7.1 update has been moved to the less prominent “Also Available” section. Apple is not requiring users to install iOS 27, but recommends installing at least iOS 26.7.1 for the latest security fixes.
