Apple has invited selected members of the media to an all-day product launch experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported the invitation.

Gurman said the event could feature touchscreen MacBooks, a new iPad mini and Macs powered by M6 chips.

He previously reported that Apple would introduce the devices “on or around” October 27 through an online video presentation and a separate media hands-on event. His latest post confirms the media gathering’s date but does not establish whether the product announcements will take place on October 28 or earlier.

Expected touchscreen MacBook Pro models

The touchscreen laptops are expected to be redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Reports have associated them with OLED displays, Dynamic Island and substantially lighter designs.

Earlier speculation suggested Apple might call the devices MacBook Ultra. Gurman’s earlier report instead said they would remain part of the MacBook Pro family.

New Macs and iPad mini

Apple is also expected to introduce M6 versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac.

The new iPad mini is expected to include an OLED display, a front-facing camera positioned for landscape video calls and a redesigned speaker system.
