Apple unveils fourth-generation Apple TV 4K with Siri AI and A19 chip

Apple unveiled the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, a home-theater device featuring Siri AI powered by Apple Intelligence.

The device has an A19 chip, three far-field microphones and an updated Siri Remote with Find My support. Apple claims up to 50% higher CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance compared with the previous generation.

Pre-orders are available in the US and 29 other countries and regions. Apple TV 4K will reach stores on November 13, priced at $299 in the US or $49.83 per month for six months.

Siri AI runs on Apple Intelligence

Siri AI adds a full-screen interface for finding films and shows, receiving recommendations and asking questions while watching. Answers about filming locations or age suitability appear in a compact window without interrupting playback.

When a user has an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, Siri AI on Apple TV 4K can use personal context—for example, to play a show recommended by a contact.

Four-speaker surround sound

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K supports a four-speaker system using HomePod mini 2 for the first time. Four second-generation HomePod speakers can also be used if the front and rear pairs match.

The speakers identify their positions in the room and automatically adjust playback timing and volume levels to suit the space.

Smart-home controls

Apple TV 4K can display alerts from a compatible doorbell on the television, allowing users to see and speak with visitors and control other accessories. Siri AI also supports hands-free control of accessories and scenes.

The device includes Wi-Fi and Thread, and supports automation, guest mode and local HomeKit Secure Video processing. Apple has added camera-activity descriptions and summarized notifications generated with Apple Intelligence.

Siri requests may be processed on the device or through Private Cloud Compute. Apple says data processed in the cloud is not stored or accessible to the company; HomeKit Secure Video recordings remain end-to-end encrypted.

Other features and availability

The A19 chip includes a dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient high-quality video streaming with lower bandwidth use. The Siri Remote retains its design but can be located through Find My or a built-in sound.

Siri AI will be available in beta on second-generation Apple TV 4K models and later. At launch, the feature will work in English in the United States, Australia, Canada, India and New Zealand.
