Amazon has renamed its Kindle Unlimited subscription service Kindle+. The core features and price remain unchanged, while subscribers will get access to a larger audiobook catalog.
The service costs $11.99 per month and includes millions of eBooks, along with thousands of audiobooks, comics, manga and magazines. Subscribers can borrow up to 20 digital books, audiobooks or comics at once.
Expanded audiobook catalog
Kindle+ works through the Kindle app on Apple devices including the iPhone and iPad, as well as on Kindle devices. Amazon said the subscription will include more audiobooks than before.
Authors will be able to add more eligible audiobooks to Kindle+, including titles narrated with artificial intelligence. The expansion also includes audiobooks narrated by humans.
Amazon’s Virtual Voice tool
Amazon uses its Virtual Voice tool for AI-narrated editions. The company wants users to continue listening to an ebook after putting down their Kindle.
New subscribers can receive a 30-day free trial of Kindle+.
