Dell has opened preorders for the XPS 16 Creator Edition, a laptop aimed at creative work and artificial-intelligence tasks. In the US, it costs $3,799.99, with initial deliveries expected on October 16.
The laptop is Dell’s first model built on the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform. Its NVIDIA N1X processor has 18 cores, while the graphics unit has 5,120 cores; the configuration also includes 32GB of unified LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD.
The shared memory pool gives the CPU and graphics unit access to the same data, which may help with workloads involving large datasets, including local AI model execution.
OLED display and connectivity
The XPS 16 has a 16-inch touchscreen Tandem OLED display with a 3,200×2,000 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It supports HDR True Black 600, covers the full DCI-P3 color space, has a Delta E below 2 and carries Pantone Verified certification.
Ports include three USB4 connections with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery, HDMI 2.1b, a full-size SDXC 7.1 card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.
Chassis and configuration
The CNC-machined aluminum chassis is 17.8mm thick and weighs about 2.02kg. The laptop has a 99Wh battery and a glass touchpad.
Dell’s model does not use the most powerful NVIDIA RTX Spark configuration. The MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+ offers a 20-core chip version and up to 128GB of RAM; its price in Ukraine starts at UAH 170,000.
