Meta unveils camera-free Muse Charm pocket AI assistant
Meta has unveiled Muse Charm, a compact device with a display and microphone for voice interaction with its Muse assistant. The gadget is not ready for sale yet, but the company hopes to release it by the winter holidays.
Meta has unveiled Muse Charm, a small pocket device that brings its Muse AI assistant into dedicated hardware. Mark Zuckerberg announced it at the close of Meta Connect 2026.
The gadget has a rounded-square body, a front display and a strap hanging from the bottom. A microphone is visible on the top, while no physical buttons can be seen; Meta has not specified the display technology or control method.
Muse Charm works without a camera
Unlike Meta Ray-Ban glasses, the new device has no camera. It is designed for voice interaction with Muse and does not offer environmental recognition features.
Zuckerberg said the product is not ready for sale. Meta hopes to launch it by the winter holidays, but has not announced a price or exact release date.
Other Muse updates
Meta also announced that Muse will come to its glasses with voice and computer-vision support. The Muse app for macOS will gain computer-control capabilities, allowing the assistant to perform tasks independently.
The company is entering the market after the unsuccessful Humane AI Pin and Rabbit R1, which faced criticism over limited functionality, high prices and weak user reception. Muse Charm’s outcome will depend on its price and real-world capabilities.
