US sanctions on Iran’s aviation sector have disrupted flights and pushed civilian travellers toward overland routes. Those journeys are more expensive, the source reports.

Nats says a previously unknown software defect corrupted flight data in a millisecond, triggering a six-hour outage and mass cancellations. The error first occurred at 10:00 and recurred leading to a major incident declared at 12:32pm, with full operations resuming at 7:30pm BST (18:30 UTC).
A UK air traffic control outage that led to more than 2,000 flight cancellations on Tuesday was reportedly triggered by spurious data in a military aircraft’s flight plan. The Ministry of Defence said it saw no indication of military error.
